Taster pack of three Saida's Kitchen tagine sauces Can't decide? Try the taster pack. One jar of each style, £10.50.

Our mildest sauce is built on our own Ras el Hanout spice blend, inspired by the rich, heady flavours of Morocco and Tunisia. The body comes from real ingredients: carrots, aubergine, sultanas, tomatoes and fresh parsley and coriander, with cumin, cinnamon, turmeric and ginger for warmth.

It is rich and fruity, very mild, and ready to cook straight from the jar. Simmer it with chicken, chickpeas, fish or vegetables and serve with couscous, rice or bread. One jar serves three.

Saida's Kitchen began when Saida's daughter developed food allergies and Saida couldn't find a sauce she trusted on the supermarket shelf. So she went back to her kitchen and made her own. Read Saida's story

TOO MUCH HEAT FOR ME

The description reads "A rich & fruity Moroccan-style tagine sauce with aubergine, tomato, sultanas & fragrant spices". I wasn't expecting such a hot sauce and couldn't really taste anything except the heat, so for me personally it didn't match up to the description.

Yum

I usually make my own tagine with a paste but decided to try this as a speedy option. So pleased I did as it was so easy and tasty with good spicy kick. We don't eat meat so I made this with chickpeas and sweet potato. It was delicious. I will definitely use this again but might add some sultanas next time. I also like that this is gluten free

Actually not bad

This tagine sauce is pretty good. It's slightly sweet, salty, savory, and spicy. I personally had it a chickpea and vegetable tagine-like dish, which was quite good. I like that it has aubergines in it, which set it apart from other ready made tagine sauces. Seems decent quality and value

"Flavour That Transports You"

"I tried this Moroccan-style tagine sauce recently, and it was a game-changer! The mix of aubergine, tomato, sultanas, and fragrant spices brought so much flavour to my weeknight chicken tagine. I even used it with roasted veggies, and it turned out just as amazing. Super versatile and such a time-saver!"

Taste of Morocco in my home!

I visited Morocco last year and this is the closest I've felt to experiencing an authentic Moroccan sauce in the UK. Great product and I'll buy again.

Delicious

Had this last night with chicken and cous cous. Absolutely delicious. It has a wonderfully rich and fruity flavour. It had some heat to it which I wasn't expecting but it wasn't overpowering.

Lovely

This has a really lovely flavour and it's super quick way to whip up a quick dinner. At £5 a jar it is a little pricey but the flavours are great

Great taste

I found it a little bit inconvinient to order it like this, but taste wise it's great. A good way to make normally boring rice taste amazing.

Aromatic, appetising appearance; savoury with the heat gradually building up

This sauce is beautifully rich and tangy, with the bright, inviting aroma of tomatoes and subtle, earthy notes of garlic, cumin, and coriander.

I also appreciate its appetising appearance, which holds up beautifully throughout the cooking process, without the need for extra store-bought tomato paste or spices. The deep orange-red hue, smooth consistency, and medium thickness are just right, and there is no need to add stock either. Tiny specks of spices and seeds from the fenugreek and coriander give it a wholesome, rustic look.

On tasting, the flavour is beautifully balanced at first—savoury, with the natural sweetness of tomatoes, a mild tang from the vinegar and lemon juice, and warmth from the chillies. The heat gradually builds with each bite, but it doesn’t overpower the other flavours. The aftertaste lingers, not just with the heat from the chillies, but also with a gentle herbal note from the coriander and cumin.

Personally, I found it a bit too spicy, which made me sweat, though I could still appreciate the other flavours. My husband, on the other hand, absolutely love the kick it delivers!

Lovely flavour but spicy

This stir in tagine sauce has a lovely flavour and was very easy to use. I cooked up some chicken and onions and then added in the sauce and served with rice as suggested on the jar as we didn't have couscous or bread which were the other suggestions.

We loved the flavour definitely a subtle fruity flavour coming from the odd sultanas that you find throughout.

The only bad thing for me was that it was a lot more spicy than I was expecting. It didn't state it was spicy at all (I don't know if a tagine is known for being spicy in general) luckily we also served this with natural yoghurt which helped a bit but if I didn't have the yoghurt I'm not sure I would have been able to eat it and not someone who avoids spice completely, I usually like a little heat with certain foods.

Heat and serve

I like this sauce, which is a heat and serve rather than cook-in choice, which makes it a quick option when you are in a hurry. It can be served on its own with rice (or even chips) or you can cook separately and add your own protein to make a more complete meal. It tastes good and is a useful store cupboard ingredient.

Authentic Taste

I'm thrilled to have discovered this range of sauces! Moroccan Tagine is a personal favourite, so being able to re-create it at home is such a treat—especially when it tastes this good. The flavours are perfectly balanced, with just the right touch of sweetness. It's a big yes from me! I can't wait to explore the other flavours in the range.

Versatile sauce!

This cooking sauce is very flavourful. Season your protein and sauté it until it’s brown. Add the sauce and cook until the protein is cooked through. E sauce has lots of flavour and will become your go-to for quick delicious meals!

Such lovely flavour and a really great sauce to make quick meals with!

Not mild!

Warning... this is not mild, even though that's what it says on the label! Quite a bit of spice to it and my children found way too hot. I like a bit of spice, but it was even on the limit for me. Tasty, but quite hot!

Saida holding three jars of Saida's Kitchen sauce behind a bowl of prawns and rice

Our story

It started with her daughter.

When Saida's daughter developed multiple food allergies, every label became a question. Saida searched the supermarket shelves for a sauce she could trust and couldn't find one. The bold African flavours she grew up with weren't there either.

So she went back to her kitchen. Saida grew up between East Africa and Italy, in a mixed-race family where food became the language that brought everyone together, and learned to cook beside her grandmother. She started making sauces from those family recipes, first for her own table, then for every family that wanted a better choice of sauces.

Every sauce is made as nature intended, with no added sugar, preservatives, additives, artificial colours, flavourings, milk, nuts, gluten or E numbers. The only sugars are the ones that occur naturally.

These flavours were too special to keep in the family. They were made to be shared.
